The Incredible Hulk Trailer

Just finished watching this a few times and I have to say, it didn't tickle my inner geek. I have never been terribly intrigued by the Hulk character, despite it's obvious parallels to the Jekyll/Hyde motif. I was in the minority of people who enjoyed the first Hulk movie. What I enjoyed about the first one was how director Ang Lee managed to add some depth to a mythos that sorely needed it.

After seeing the trailer for this next rendition, and assuming that the film makers are returning to the traditional "Hulk Smash" basics that apparently resonates with more fans, I'm left feeling somewhat underwhelmed. However, I suppose "Hulk Smash" could be mildly entertaining, and it could be interesting to see Edward Norton's take on the Bruce Banner/Hulk character.

Update: Click here if you don't want to feel dirty for having to go to MTV's web site to watch the trailer.

The first movie was an abortion, and this looks no better. It's true, the Hulk is just a Jekyll/Hyde rip-off, but at least Stevenson had the sense to make Hyde live out all of the dark emotions, not just blind rage.

If a sad sack of green shit like the Hulk gets a second movie, where is my GOD DAMNED SERENITY SEQUEL?!

The first Hulk was a God damned tragedy, only thing it had going for it was the cinematography... Here's to hoping this one is better. It seems, from reading over the site's synopsis, that they fucked with the story... less... this time around. It won't be LOTR, but it might be worth going to see as just-another-mindless-hero-movie.

Yup, living la vida minority. I know the "hulk dogs" were a little silly, but "God damned tragedy"? Really? Maybe I have poor taste in movies, but I would rank Hulk above X3, Spider-Man 3, Elektra, and any of the F4 movies.

I mean do people really go ga-ga for "Hulk Smash?" Either way, I'll see the movie, just don't know if I will get as much out of it as the first one.

P.S. Serenity sequel would be gold!
